Thanks for the link...I have also seen today that Cardiff University are working on a test that will quickly identify lung infections in cystic fibrosis sufferers, so that they can be treated with the right antibiotic.

Research gives hope for the future

Unfortunately there are so many scientific experiments these days but they never seem to get into production I.E. it is possible now to reverse the brain memory to your youthful days, repair heart muscles 70% after a heart attack even grow a new heart but they never seem to use these discoveries. Is it because there is not enough profit or because the population is getting too large for the world?

Thank you for the reply and I hope it gave people some hope and relieved others worry Tom

Hi Tom thanks for the link a very interesting article.

I agree with what you say with the trials that are a buzz one minute but then we never hear of them progressing further.

I know that Prof. Madden is moving on with new research in to the use of different retinoids on the treatment of emphysema but it all takes time and of course money.

Keep posting these factual trials, its good to keep up with developments.

Hi Tomhatha

Thanks for the link, It was very interesting.

I personally think we have come so far in the treatment of many diseases in the last few years. We forget that many of the treatments we now take for granted, were headline grabbers a few years ago.

Researching from scratch to fruition does take a long time, but where would we be today without the persistence of our brilliant scientists.

Hi velvet 55, I think as most of the research is with our Genes it is not profitable to use just the patients Genes therefore we must find a way to do the same with others Genes to make it worth doing.

I don’t get much time to get on the site so just in case I miss answering anyone please accept my apologies for the future.

Keep happy laugh and sing and no matter what is wrong you always feel better regards Tom xx

I'm over here in the states, across the pond, and looking forward to a webinar being held by The Lung Institute, tomorrow, on my computer. I had to sign up to receive a link that I'll click on a few minutes before it starts. Apparently stem cell work in the lungs is being done and I think the article said.... non invasively......which is curious. Will let you all know what I see.
