It was a truly lovely afternoon and evening...Connor has grown into a very pleasant well-mannered young man...Laurie, his girlfriend, is friendly and chatty...and much prettier than she appears in photos!
The icing on the cake is that Connor is passionate about Mediaeval history...he's saving hard in order to go to College as a mature student to study Early Mediaeval history...Laurie is already a student, entering her third year of Media and Communications which translates into organising and running local festivals...these are the Fleadh...the Festivals held around Ireland to celebrate traditional music, poetry and art...she was heavily involved in the recent Yeats Festival held in Sligo.
We all talked nineteen to the dozen...well...apart from Himself... who won't 'fess up to being hard of hearing so he tends to answer a question long after everyone has moved onto another topic...
give up hope of anything lovely happening again it's happened for you and Himself. What beautiful looking young ones they are ! I dare say they were delighted to catch up with you and share all their news and hopes for the future and who better than you to tell it all to. Stuff that memories are made from I reckon. Great, too, that you share the same interests with them both. They will remember their visit. Polly x
So glad that a lovely time was had by all Vashti and what a lovely couple they look in the photo. Must have been good to find out that you are not alone in taking an interest in the past so you will have lots more to talk about with Connor in the future. Good luck to him and hope you are doing well now. xxxxx
