Just wondered how many people have changed from Spiriva Handihaler to Spiriva Respimat and which you like better or have any of you gone back to the Handihaler?

Thank you

Were you on Spiriva Handihaler before the Respimat and if so did you notice any difference when you switched?

I'm the opposite so went back to handihaler, but I guess we're all different what suits one doesn't always suit another.

Did you find you had more side effects, or the delivery system didn't agree with you or it simply wasn't as effective in improving your breathing?

Hello just tried it from yesterday, made my central chest tightness go away but my my lungs feel tight at the sides.

Dr says I can't have Respimat with a heart condition...

So I guess it is safe to say something in the delivery system is incompatible with a heart condition, as I believe the Spiriva would be the same?

Well it's liquid as opposed to powder, too. But I just looked up the sheet and it says 'recent MI'.... I get sinusitis problems PND & sore throat with powder, so I wanted to try the alternative. I'll have another go at him, or the nurse. It's probably cost that they really want to avoid.. call me cynical.

Have you tried Spiriva Respimat in the past? I didn't really have much or a problem with the Handihaler but my Dr seems to feel the Respimat is more effective so will see.

Thanks

I used Respimat for the first time today, after one month on Handihaler. I had been on Advair for years, but switched to Spiriva to avoid side effects from steroid (in Advair). So, after a month with the Handihaler, my insurance company switched to Respimat only. I was just getting used to that weird noise with the Handihaler when you inhale, and now I am switching. Thanks for this post. I am curious what others have to say. I did have EXTREME dry mouth at night with the Handihaler; hope that lessens with this method.

still get the dry mouth with spiriva respimat but have not had mouth thrush that I had with the powder
