Great Expectations Dozy's top ten.

Having returned from the pulmonary consultant full of the joys of Spring and Summer, after being told that I had exceeded expectations I got to wondering.

What did I expect.

1 to wake up in the morning. I have no intention of pegging it any time soon.

2 to be able to do for myself after Mr Dozy has gone to work.

3 to walk from room to room without falling over the oxygen cable and getting it too tangled.

4 to watch TV

5 to listen to the radio

6 to read a book

7 to finish my knitting

8 to play a game

9 to wash and iron

10 to manicure my nails

These small things make my daily life fun and liveable. They are simple and allowances have to be made to make up for getting sob. But I love being alive and intend to be around for a long time.

My consultant had not expected me to leave hospital and when I did was not expecting me to make the first 6 month check.

He saw the new me slimmer fitter straighter and bouncing with the joy of life and guess what he expects to see me in 6 months time. The challenge to lower the steroid dosage. I love a challenge.

Sorry that all sounds a bit smug and self satisfied, and it is but just for today I do not care.

see you love Dozy ☺ 🐀 x

Way to go dancing Dozy, Its great to get good feedback from the top man and good luck with the steroid reduction. I'm on 12mg a day of prednisolone and 2grams of Mycophenolate which seems to be as low as I can go, my bones were deteriorating so I'm now on Ad cal calcium tablets.

You will be around for a long time to come Tina so don't cash in your pension, your gonna need it. :) .

Hi Dozy loved the pics,

I know exactly what you mean. I've had RA and lung problems for many years, but last October I was rushed into hospital with acute pancreatitis. It caused all sorts of problems from septicemia to pneumonia, and I was put into a coma and put on life support. My husband (we are separated but friends) and my children were called in at 4am one morning cos' they thought I was not going to pull through, but I don't give up easy!!!!! and here I am :-) it has been a slow recovery, and my lungs are a bit worse because of it, as have had pseudomonas infection ever since, but like you I count my blessings. As some one said He doesn't want me up there and even him down there doesn't want me, so looks like I'm here to stay for a while longer and intend to keep it that way :-) take care and keep painting them nails!!!!

Good on you Dozy. You show 'em girl and stick around for the longest possible time. Live life and enjoy it. Hugs xx

Love the positive posts. I'm off my my annual check today , a bit concerned about my oxygen levels. But whatever happens I will still get pleasure watching my garden grow, the birds and squirrels I see every day. Like everyone else I won't be giving up.

Hi Tina. It's lovely to see you so cheerful. It sounds like good news doesn't it?.

Did you draw those lovely mice? They just seem appropriate for your post.

I ought to get round to some more drawing. I never seem to find the time.

I had a bad day yesterday with an attack of vertigo. It made me feel groggy all day. I'm much better today thankfully. Got lots to do now to catch up now.

Take care. Love Mavis. XXX

Dearest precious Dozy. What wonderful news. You have made my day. We all have times when we think it is easier to quit. When my Residents got down like that, we would always say, they had to wait a while cos their wings weren't ready. It always raised a smile, and changed the subject. Take care dear, and don't try to do too much.

PS. One of your relatives has taken up residence in our shed. I think she is expecting. We have put a human mousetrap down with chocolate in it. Our plan is to release her at the park, Just hope we can catch her before the babies arrive.
