Everything in the garden is lovely...

Its a beautiful morning, and hard to come back indoors after wandering round the garden. but the washing is almost ready so just time for a joke -

a little boy goes up to his grandad and says 'Grandad, can you make a noise like a frog?'

'Well, I suppose I could if I tried,'replies Grandad. 'Great' replies the boy, 'because Grandma said we can all go to Disneyland when you croak.'

Yes, Kelly, the rambler over the pergola has done really well this year, apart from that awful wind we had which took many roseheads off. It has a lovely scent so I gathered up the heads and put them in a shallow bowl indoors.

sometimes when the weather is bad I think why do we work and spend on the garden so much, but then the sun shines and its wonderful. iris x

I know it is definitely hard work , i just delegate to my husband now . I had a lovely yellow rose bush and everything seems to be coming up now and it looks so pretty but hard hard work x

Great Joke again! Well done

The garden seems a perfect place for a nice cuppa tea and to relax and enjoy.

I agree, Sk but as soon as I sit down I spot something I just must do.

I am exactly the same. I see another weed or a stone that's too big or a cutting I could take!

If you change the tea for red wine (to help with backache) as the day goes on the urge to get up diminishes. Simples

Take care

I do wish I liked wine, or rather that wine liked me. I never feel better for a glass of wine, just headachey, but tiredness slows me down quite quickly anyway. iris x

If only this cold wind would go away, drying the ground and pulling at the plants not to mention keeping us chilly.

Nearly fell off my chair laughing Lyd, best i've heard for a long time, though hubby says i have a warped sense of humour! Love your garden, so looking forward to spending some time in mine when it gets warmer. xx

I often wonder about my sense of humour, that was a bit cruel but children don't know, do they? Hope you and your husband are as well as can be. Iris x

Oh dear!

btw, you've got wonderful climbing roses> I've got "ground" ones, yellow ones in teh back garden and some in the front garden.

Last thursday it was so beautiful and my meighbour upstaris had gone out, so I took my flute in the garden and made a happy noise. Theamplified sound was fantastic. I don't think it disturbed other neighbours because i heard teh thumping of pop music in the background! It happened that another neighbour is a volunteer driver who picked me up and said, " I heard you, it sounded impressive" Thank you for the praise indeed, as I had had a self confidence crisis. But I resolved it this way: I learned to write, I enjoyed it, I wrote essays at uni! so My train of current thought is: I am learning the flute, I enjoy it immensely, and I'll play some Baroque one day.

Waking up this morning, I played the 1st movement of Bach's orchestral suite number 2 in B minor. I put my oximeter to measure my heart rate, 65 beat per minute, the same beat as the piece! (O2 95)

Sorry I coudn't find James Galway playing it ith I Solisti Veneti which is really divine!

I am rehearsing my Grade 1 exam pieces. I feel so good and so happy! Cheers, Mic

that was lovely to,listen to Mic. I am very unmusical, but often wish I had some classical music to relax to. I never listen to the radio but I suppose I could buy a dvd for the TV? something very easy to listen to. That is a lovely rambler rose with a beautiful scent, and it has flowered well this year.
