Breathlessness

I must admit the hardest thing to come to grips with when suffering from Emphysema is the increasing breathlessness which leads to increasing immobility. But then again when the sun shines and the birds tweet the breathlessness seems to be less important.

Well said Martin, Not sure why but my breathing has been the best for a while over the last couple of days. Must be that sun shine your talking about, just makes us all feel so much better.

Yesterday I managed to mow my back lawn with very few stops and then cleared a wall of some ivy, then I built up a flat packed table and chairs. A week before this would have been impossible all in one day so i'll ride with it while it lasts. .

Looking good out there again today so I feel a good walk up the Malverns is in order, something I haven't done for some time.

I did go peege and as you know I don't do things by halves do I. I decided to see if I could still get to the top of the British Camp and I'm very surprised to say I can. It took a few hours from the Malvern Hills car park but I made it. .

We'll have to arrange a day to meet up and see if any other nearby Healthunlockeders fancy a walk on the Malverns to.

I'll put a post on tomorrow with videos and pics so watch out for it.

Hi Tony,

Great walking! I would be up for a walk in this type of weather......a little bit of fine warm weather helps my breathing no end!

Happy to walk, stroll, pause, walk some more if others are up to that as well.

Hi Pauline, it seems you are like me, my breathing is at its best when the temperature goes above 15 degrees, didn't enjoy this last winter much as it went on to long.

It sounds like a good idea to get a few healthunlockeders out for a walk on the Malverns or an easier more level walk I do by the river Severn.

Definitely Martin - it frustrates the hell out of my husband. He has every good intention to stride out to the car - two steps in he is doubled over gasping for breath!! He says he just forgets and thinks he is OK until he tries to move!!! But as you say the sun is shining and mainly the world is a good place. Have a great day xxx

I do that and it is frustrating. Tell your hubby not to let his oxygen drop too low. I think it is hazardous to our life.

I love the summer but it has its drawbacks i get more brethless come out in bruses if i expose my skin to the sun and feel yuck but i do enjoy the summer seeing all the plants come to life and hearing the birds in the wood near by

I hope I will always enjoy life. Sure could kick myself for the years of smiking . little did I realize how this would be. I do try to enjoy every little thing though. I still go out and do work even though I do have an oxygen pack on my back!
