I hope this photo comes out. My husband took it in the 1950s and developed and printed it - his hobby at that time. Lyn's beautiful swan photo took me back a long way!

Hope you are as well as can be just now. Its lovely having lots of old photos, I did spend some time once trying to put them in some sort of order, but they soon get jumbled up again. they are so precious, probably mean more to us than any other material possession. Its lovely to share them sometimes with friends on line. Love Iris x

Beautiful! I love swans as long as they're not too near me. Saying that if you've got food they will take it very gently from you.

Iris, I remember as a little boy, going to play in a marellous park where swans rushed for the bits of stale bread passers by and me used to give out; and the enclosure where there were some peacocks, and one rare white one. I loved that park. There was an archery club and the memebers shot high to high metal "cranes" on top of which they attached feathers attached to a bob. When they hit it, they hid underneath a mesh shelter to see it coming down! Fond memories! Mic
