Good sunny morning everyone. Does anyone fancy a slow stroll across to St Michael's Mount. It's a lovely warm sunny day, we can have a nice cuppa and a clotted cream scone in the little cafe when we arrive. Who's up for it?

Have a lovely day everyone.

Love Lyn xxx

My Hubby lived in Teignmouth for some years when he was in his teens. So we had lots of Devon holidays and he knew the place like the back of his hand. I have some wonderful memories of some great times there. xxx

I love St Michaels Mount - what a fantastic picture. Have a great day - wish I was there!! xxx

Well you can come with us Tadaw...there's a thick cream scone with your name on it waiting in the cafe there. Thank you kindly xxx

in reply to Jolyn

Thank YOU kindly xxx

Sounds wonderful - be there very soon. Don't eat all the scones Lyn, I shall definitely need them after that climb to the cafe lol. Yes, I know the area very well, my uncle was a light house keeper at nearby Pendeen - the stories I could tell of my long summer holidays there 😀😀. xxx

Jolyn in reply to

Fab...all the more the merrier. How interesting about your uncle...when we get across to the Mount, you can tell me some stories Jan...I'd love that. Now settle hubby down and get back here as soon as you can. :-) xxx

in reply to Jolyn

Just having coffee then off to the garden centre to order top soil!!!!! Our new bungalow only has a small garden but the "soil" is really builder's rubble so it drastically needs attention. 😟😟. I shall have to join you and Fred for the second shift lol. xxx

Jolyn profile image
Jolyn in reply to

That will be great Jan...more scones for me then. lol. I love visiting gardening centres...they have so much there these days and with all the flowers in bloom at the moment, it's so tempting to buy them. I always manage to hold out until the end of May, then that's it....bedding plants are in the pots and they completely transform the garden. :-) xxx

Jolyn profile image
Jolyn in reply to

No you're not...dragging you by the arm...no diets for us today. I'll buy you an ice cream to replace the one I pinched of you yesterday. See how nice I am really.......................then we can have scones. lol :-) xxx

Had a really good game and good company as John was my ex boss when I worked with the police and is a really good friend as well as a good golfer, the weather was perfect short sleeves was the dress of the day and we had the course to ourselves as such. And I believe the exercise was good, just what I needed. On a different note what wonderful news about Megan, so happy for her. Now what do I do with this sleeping bag as I take it now that the sleep over has been called off lol :) ;) xxx

I did that walk a few years ago Lyn. The tide caught us and as I don't swim very well I was really scared. The water was well almost up to my waist at one point. there were lots of people crossing but nobody else seemed too bothered. Luckily it was a hot day and our clothes dried quickly. I loved the castle and yes the cream teas! Beautiful! xx

Jolyn profile image
Jolyn in reply to butter-fly

I can imagine that was quite scary. Me and Hubby used to watch the people trying to get across as the tide was going out. Some made it and some found it a struggle and had to come back. It's a lovely place isn't it. I have some wonderful memories of our holidays there. We used to stay at the Godolphin Arms directly oposite. It was fabulous. :-) xxx

Jolyn profile image

Surely there must be a lift up to the castle for the residents. They can't have to walk all the way up everyday can they. lol :-)
