Ouch!

After retiring, I went to the Social Security office to apply for Social

Security.

The woman behind the counter asked me for my driver's License to verify

my age.

I looked in my pockets and realised I had left my wallet at home.

I told the woman that I was very sorry, but I would have to go home and

come back later.

The woman said, 'Unbutton your shirt'.

So I opened my shirt revealing my curly silver hair.

She said, 'That silver hair on your chest is proof enough for me and

she processed my Social Security application..

When I got home, I excitedly told my wife about my experience at the

Social Security office...

She said, 'You should have dropped your pants. You might have gotten

disability, too." :-D

You didn't have to read it, and if you felt compelled to .....why comment so negatively? :-(

I have lots of them Rubyred, but try to keep it to 1 a week because some people object to jokes on a health site. Stay well. XX

Hi Nikkers obviously they haven't got a sence of humor why the hell are they one this site. What was that persons name? They should change it to Lemon Drop. Nikkers great you have humor that's what this site is all about to give each other support and a laught.

Go for it Nikkers.

Anne.

from Australia.

Thanks a lot Anne. I can't understand people that don't have a sense of humour. If you look at the responses that I received for this joke, you'll see that there's a negative comment from one (there's always one!) But happily most people take it in the way it was meant - just for a laugh to cheer us all up. It's bad enough having all these illnesses to live with, without moaning all the time. Life's too short to be miserable all the time.

Take care and keep laughing. :-D :-D XXX

Nikkers in reply to katieoxo60

No, I'm not in any pain Katie, thankfully. I'm probably better (health wise) than many people on this site, as I'm still able to be independent and don't need oxygen etc., My life's not all roses by a long way, but I won't give in to it without a fight. I've had these manky lungs since I was a baby, so we've got to know each other very well .........It's them - or me, and I'm a stubborn +%*$!

Sorry Nikkers I was answering several posts from BLF plus pain concern got a little confused senior moment :) Glad you don't have pain, your a fighter like me, but it gets harder each day to maintain independence. I keep changing things to make life easier, not sure I want to move into supervised accommodation and mastering workmen is a mind field with the best will in the world I think we all get cheated now and then it's this modern world we live in. Lifes not a bed of roses especially with chronic illness but we sure do a good job of survival against the odds. Have a nice weekend, it is dull here looks like rains on it's way, speak to you again soon I am sure xx Ps forgot they are coming to demonstrate a mobility scooter to me next week, think it will be too heavy for me to manage let you know how it goes, clear the roads Katies on the loose :)

Good morning Katie. Yes. very dull here (West Sussex) this morning too, so glad that I still have my car and am able to drive as it's shopping day - again! Wishing you well with your scooter next week. I think mobility is so important to us as we get older. I'd hate to have to depend on someone for that. They would have to carry me SCREAMING to get me into supervised accommodation. lol

Take care. :-D XX
