Yes,I was going to say I,m an azi now but thought that might be misconstrued lol.At my last BROMPTON appointment the rather inattentive consultant put me on azithromycin 3 times a week.Did,nt like this doctor much.He did,nt take any notice of what I had to say and his writing was so bad the secretary and pharmacist spend time trying to get a hold of him. , to confirm What he,d written. And wasted my time as well of course. He was also the one to tell me " no valves or coils but maybe a transplant" which does,nt make any sense.I,m fit enough for a major operation but not for having a tube stuck down my throat under local anaesthetic.I,m going to discuss with my GP on Tuesday.I,ve also started taking Co-enzyme Q10 to see if it helps me get off the pesky steroids also going to ask GP about vitamin A.Seems like nothing else to lose so I,ll try anything.I actually think it,s just the cold weather that,s causing me problems at the moment.Ok that,s my moan over for a bit, roll on the summer and sunshine.Happy breathing chums D. :D

Like you, I can't understand his thinking re the coils and valves. I've started the vit A also. Can't do any harm so long as not too much is taken. Apparently the perceived wisdom is 10,000 iu per day but no noticeable improvement for first 6 months. Anything is worth a shot. Hope you get some answers from your GP.

Oh dear Farmer, at least you have a chance at new lungs, which would be wonderful. I also am very much Looking forward to spring, the better weather seems to keep the pesky infections down. Wishing you well. Love Kin Xx

Regarding Azithromycin, my consultant put me on it last August and I have not had a chest infection since. I am putting on weight and feel so much better. It has been a magic bullet for me
