Lovely piece of writing vashti about your garden that was. I agree with the comment made that it's the garden you miss most when you move. We were in our previous house 34 years and devoted a lot of money, time and effort into the garden, which was about three quarters of an acre. Our sons grew up there and it was hard to leave. Even harder is the fact that it has been rented ever since we left fifteen years ago and the garden is so neglected, it's heartbreaking. but we have become very attached to our present one and have been busy here but old age is getting the better of us. Hope the photo comes up. Iris x

Hi Jimmy,

I hope you are feeling better. I do think a garden is good for our health and even if you only plant a couple of new bulbs somewhere you can see from the house, it's something to watch out for and look forward to. If only our winters were a little milder and we could spread the work over the year, but even when it's cold a short walk round the garden usually reveals something new to see. Iris x

i am feeling a little better now thanks iris.

yes, i agree with you iris , theres always "bits and bobs" you can do in the garden, and even just a walk around it looking, thinking and planning etc. and it always reveals something new.

A beautiful photo Iris. The very first garden that I knew had a huge effect on me, it was my Grandmothers and a walled garden of several acres. I think there must once have been a BIG house but when my Grandparents had the property it was just the fabulous garden, stable and cottage. I loved that garden we have been back in recent years, the cottage has gone and a housing estate covers the land. So sad :(

How beautiful, just love those colors xxx
