Thank you for replying Nanaeal, I used to take honey and lemon but since having reflux have been avoiding citrus fruits I suck sweets but tend to get a sore tongue, can't win at the moment.

Hello granny, I too have bronchie. Cough medicines are ok but I find my nebuliser a great help getting rid of the gunk which causes the coughing. I use it three or four times a week. I hope that helps. Take good care. Love LeeLee. X

I can clear the gunk ok but I also have a dry almost choking cough my GP has given me codeine Linctus in the past which is great but don't think they like you having too much of that so was hoping to hang on till nearer Christmas before I asked for a repeat.

Thanks Megan I will give it a try, I have tried honey before I tend to put a spoonful in my mouth and let it run slowly down my throat I sometimes do the same with iced water but it doesn't last very long.

Thanks again all the best

Hi Granny, I found Bells linctus helps with the irritating cough. It is very cheap and you used to be able to get it from superdrug. Nebulised saline helps with the thick stuff.

Thank you Stillstanding I will give it a try, I have got some of the bronchostop today I asked the pharmacist he said it was ok for me to have if it doesn't work then I can try the Bells linctus.

When I get a cough, I use 'Simple Linctus' as this is what they gave me when In hospital with pseudo. If the cough is productive, I leave it to get on with it. Only use cough medicine if it's not productive.

I have tried simple linctus it doesn't do anything for me, I have three coughs, a productive cough I can clear my lungs easily by lunch time then the dry cough takes over and I also get a tickly cough sometimes I cough so much I feel as if I am choking, I feel the more I cough the more I am irritating my throat which makes me want to cough more, so feel I need to break the cycle.

Thank you for replying poemsgalore.
