Went shopping this morning and cold weather almost shut my lungs down. Oh well must be winter. The bright side is that it will soon be Christmas. Take care all and keep warm, dry and healthy as possible

Maybe wear a snood?

what is a snod? If I cover my mouth and nose I find it more difficult to breath and wonder why that happens?

I have no idea. Maybe it is like a snood but with one O sewn up lol. Google could be your friend.

A snood. Fits around the neck loose and can be pulled up over the mouth nose ears. Even as a hood. Not skin tight like a biker balaclava. Loose and warm with a toggle string around one end of the fleece tube.

I was reluctant to say this was what they are all like as I had not seen them before.

Mine was 1.99 in microfiber fleece. I got it from 7dayshop.com

sounds cozy....thanks!

This is why we all seem to be affected differently. I work part time outside and I seem to breathe ok when it's cold. I think the lowest last year was -6.

Is that the bright side or are you trying to depress me further? :) x

Well what I look as the bright side is the I woke up this morning. The down side got really cold Thursday trying to help the wife and son put the outside chrissy lights up. Totally useless (well mostly) as the cold air got to my lungs and almost shut them down. That's why I don't normally moan about the state of my health as there are always more people, especially kids worse off than.

My motto in life now. Be happy and do what I can although I generally try to do too much.

Anyway always look on the bright side of life

I,'m fairly good in cold weather, but what really finishes any shopping trip

.........turning a corner and getting a blast of icy air.

Don't like all this wet weather either. My joints are getting rusty again.

My husband took the dog to the garden - same thing! He is using a lot more oxygen than he was in summer. As soon as the cold air hits his lungs - he just seizes up! You're right soon Christmas - take good care lots of love TAD xx

Once it hits 3 degree it starts to cut me down. I had to go out yesterday and I was bushed once I had got back home.

that happened to me yesterday, i had a scarf around my face but it kept slipping, i had to stop twice to try and get my breath on a 300 yard walk home from the shop, i was thinking of getting one of those things that bikers wear , you pull them over your head and it sits around your neck like a scarf ,and you can stretch it up over your nose and mouth . has any one used one ,and are they any good?

Yes I have one it is called a Buff, you can get them from Ebay not cheap but they are much better than scarves they are thin and you can breathe through them without getting hot and sweaty.
