Thanks everyone for your kind and thoughtful advice. As you recommend a Dr friend of mine

suggested carbocystine and my own GP has prescribed it and I am on my second day - so fingers crossed. I am trying to get some physio to help me with the exercises but I have to wait 8 weeks on the NHS! I will certainly try to find a local group as you suggest - its always 'better together'! Thanks again

Good luck with the singing. I tried laughing yoga but ended up by laughing and spluttering.

Lots of luck - I so hope it works out for you :)

My husbands and I often having singing sessions, we keep adding songs to the list.

Hi there, Ben from the BLF Helpline here.

We have recently added a map of singing groups around the UK onto our website if this is something you'd like to look into, they can be really good fun as well as beneficial to your health. blf.org.uk/Page/Singing-Groups

Hi 31m3aR , I've come across this website which lists singing groups and choirs all over the UK as well as the RoI - may be worth a look?

Have a lovely day :-)
