Working together for IPF

Anne-Marie Russell has worked in IPF research for the last 4 years, and has written a blog post for us talking about the importance of the IPF community coming together.

It's a really interesting read about how researchers are working collaboratively to fight IPF.

Kevin for your information, which I now have had confirmed to me. I had fibrosis and It was suspected that it was asbestos fibres as opposed to idiopathic. it has taken me over a year to prove they were asbestos as opposed to idiopathic fibres, but during my proving of this I became aware that people with asbestos fibres in their bodies are often seen with high ferritin in their blood. this has now been confirmed to me by medical professionals, and it is suspected that a lot of the symptoms I am suffering is a result of the high ferritin levels in my body (max for average male is 300ng/ml, my last reading was 762ng/ml) so if asbestosis fibres are suspected, I would suggest checking the patients ferritin levels !! Maybe I am trying to teach you how to suck eggs, but its surprising that none of the medical profession i spoke to were aware of this and had to carry out their own research ! - Hope it helps
