Andrew Percy is the Conservative Party MP for Brigg and Goole, and is a member of the Health Select Committee.

In our third IPF Week blog, he talks about why he is fighting IPF from the house of commons.

It begs belief that this terrible terminal illness has taken so long to come to the forefront of goverment. My husband has just lost his life to ipf. Through his illness we had little info or support, till finding internet info and HU and support of the forum.

Well lm glad for Andrew, maybe he needs to hear the views from people with ipf and their carers?

Thank you Kevin for bringing this to our attention.

A member of parliament speaking with commitment about IPF, although long overdue, is very good news indeed. Thanks too, I would guess, in no small part to BLF. Let's hope services will improve for IPF patients and their carers. You never know it may make them eventually appreciate that unlike the more 'sexy' conditions, many lung conditions such as bronchiectasis are so underfunded and go unrecognised in comparison to them.

I wish Andrew Percy and Alex Cunningham every success in their quest. I will be taking note of my next first responder - it might be Andrew! cx
