I am sooo sorry to hear this. Those blasted infections - I often wonder why they can't give us a break once in a while. I send you my heartfelt thoughts and hope you have family and friends around to help you in your grief. Do take care of yourself now.

Hello I'm so sorry to hear of your very sad lose, I find this is one of the biggest disease going and very little is being said about it or even on the TV. Maybe one day it will all change,we are all thinking of you on this site.

So sorry and I wish you a peaceful time grieving, its hard my children lost there Dad 8 weeks ago at 52 no warning at all in bed sleeping and very fit as well and we are a family still in shock, I wish the kids had time to say goodbye, I hope you where able to do that.. I don't know how to go forward with them right now, life is cruel take care of yourself.xx

Yes still not sure where we are with this, it comes in waves every day, have to step up my role now, worse thing I am 59 and hubby 52 never expected it this way ..

Shelbie thoughts are with you take care. Hard to say lost my hubby 2 years ago aged 67 but you have to look after you now.
so very sorry to hear about your recent loss of your wife, no words I can say ease your pain but my thoughts are with you and all those who are living with, caring for and who have lost someone through lung disease. it's a horrible condition which as Lyn 45 says, gets very little recognition. My darling husband passed away from COPD one year ago and the last 5 years of his life were terrible.... hold on to the thought that she is not suffering anymore. I am so very, very sorry for your loss, I know exctly how you are feeling. My Peter died 4 weeks ago in hospital, after another bout of pneumonia and respiratory failure. I was his 24/7 carer for the past three years but he had COPD for the past 10 years. I cannot believe that three weeks before his death he was tootling around York railway station on his mobility scooter, taking photographs, he drove the car there and back with my son and grandsons for company, it was a boys day out as my husband was a train fanatic. When does the hurting stop, when does the large empty hole in your stomach heal, when do we stop feeling cold all the time. We have sons and grandchildren but they don't help at all, they take my mind off things for a while then I look at my husbands photo and I break down again because he should be here with me. It was him and me all the time, never apart. We met when he was 18 years old so I have know him most of my life and it is like losing the other half of me. I honestly cannot see me ever getting over this I am now 72 years old and thank god I may not have long in this world as living without him is killing me.
