As a Yank living in the UK I can tell you that it does not get anywhere near as humid here as it does in PA, NY, NJ, CT, etc. Never had a day here in 18 years anywhere close to the level of humidity ... it gets slightly humid at best here, thankfully :-)

Hello USA

It can be very humid here, especially if you live inland. We've had some terrible humid weather here, it makes it difficult to breath.

Hello Jimmy R. Glad you're feeling better. After being diagnosed with Bronchiectasis 2 years ago, I was given the vest. It helps loosen up the mucous, but I found out it works best if you nebulize right after. I have a very difficult time clearing mucous, to the point I eventually need the prednisone. In fact, I've become dependent on it, which is not a good thing at all. Next week at my appointment, the doctor said he is going to give me something else to use, but didn't say what. By the way, I live in Euclid OH, on the shore of Lake Erie. This is a wonderful cite, and I've learned lot's of helpful tips from the 'regulars".

Hi there Jimmy, big pat on the back for giving up the cigs! Please have a look at your more recent post (I just saw this one): I sent you a reply have a look at the link for a device (alternative to the vest) to help remove the mucous. You may want to try and see if that helps and then maybe get yourself an "Acapella" or "Flutter" device. They are portable and you can readily take anywhere in a bag. You can google them and buy them over the internet our check out at your pharmacy/hospital or GP. Type "Acapella" or "Flutter" into the search box on this forum and you can read previous discussions we have had about these devices and why/what people think of them. If you have mucous you must try and clear it out as it is breading ground for germs and you may get lung infections, pneumonia etc. There are good U-tube videos showing a "huffing" technique to bring up mucous more effectively than straight coughing, well worth watching and trying as well. Take carexx
