Hi dasisnotsogood I saw that in the paper and thought the same has you, why are they not wearing masks Bliss xx

They are not wearing masks because they do not need them. That is a specially developed 'trolley' thatis totally isolated from the outside world, costs thousands. It is exactly the same as the one in the hospital where he is going, nurses and doctors around it do not require masks as they 'push' themselves into the plastic surrounds which has built in gloves, masks etc......

Every piece of equipment, no matter how well manufactured, has the potential to failure. I'm surprised Elf & Safety allowed it.

As Scribe has said,do you not think this would of been checked, double checked, triple checked and checked again.with the strictness of health and safety in this country I would have no qualms about it.if you check it out its as state as the art as can be.there would be no risk at all.

What else should we do,leave the poor guy there ??

Sorry to disagree with you Jambo, but I'd prefer to be doubly safe and wear PPEs. Anything man-made can't be relied on 100%.

Not to mention it's passed by bodily fluids and is not an air born disease

I just hope the nurse gets well and that this dreadful disease is not spread any further. I pray that a cure is just around the corner. God bless all and stay well. xxxx

Hello, I think this nurse is a very valuable human being that deserves the very best care conceivable known to mankind, I pray he responds well to treatment and goes on to live a very long and happy life. I believe a cure will be found one day for everything... :) huff, don't think of sickness it's not good for you ;) :D enjoy your day, it's very windy here :) xxx

that is not good at all we recently had a virulent strain of chest infections in the nursing home where I live simple masks and quarantine areas of high infection would have reduced the speed it did spread in the end why we cannot take a leaf out of our Japanese friends book and that is wearing face masks in public if they have any respiratory illness

Isn't it great that the nurse is responding to the treatment and that things are looking very hopeful for him (now he's in the care of our national health services) and isn't it amazing that he want's to get back to saving more humans as soon as he can! :)
