Oxygen supply monitoring

Hi I am new to this but interested to know if any of you have experienced any disruption to supply of oxygen. My late mother was on oxygen 24/7 and had issues with cannula obstruction and n hospital one of the tubes became disconnected. There was no warning system.

My home concentrator will beep if there is an obstruction. Once or twice I've had my foot on the pipe without realising it and it's gone off. I don't know about my local hospital supply ones though.

When the electricity supply is interrupted my machine sounds an alarm, loud enough for me to hear even when asleep. Everyone should change their cannulae every three weeks or so, and more often when you have a cold, to minimise the chances of blockages. I have no idea how the hospital systems work.

You can test your cannula if you suspect an obstruction. Put your finger over one of the holes and the oxygen will blow out more intensely through the other onto your cheek if you hold it there.
