O2 = is this too obvious?!

6MWT = six minute walk test

Pred = prednisolone

Bronch = bronchiectasis

Re reflux:

GORD/GERD (GERD is called GORD in UK, as different spelling)

(Following might feel too specialised so happy for you to judge -

LPR = laryngeal/pharyngeal reflux, this is silent reflux which lots of peeps with COPD have

PPI = proton pump inhibitors (class of drugs used to suppressing stomach acid)

HELL = exacerbation

"Can this list of abbreviations be put on the right of page as a permanent feature please? It would save everybody printing it out and be easily available for use. Ideally, amendments and additions could be made too."

Would be great if we can add to list as we think of things - or even invent new ones (HELL - good one 02Trees lol)

Hi again Smiler,

Have you noticed that the abbreviations list is now pinned by community admin at the top of the page at the right hand side. I only noticed that, after I had posted a long appeal to everyone to email or pm the admin (Michael) to support the venture for the list to be a permanent feature.

I spent quite a long time on my appeal post, read it, read it again, submitted it and then immediately noticed that the list was pinned on the page.!! Typical isn't it? However, I edited my post with an update, and then asked members to still contact admin, in order to make sure that they realised how much it was wanted, and that it remained there. That's what I call a result. A lot of people helped and contributed, so we all came together for this. Thanks again for your support which was greatly appreciated. love and hugs xxx

Have added twice to this list but my abbreviation doesn't get included . I know it's a rare condition but it is worthy of inclusion - IPH - Idiopathic Pulmonary Haemosiderosis .

I would like to say a big thank you to those that contributed to the list ,I have used it on a number of occasions now. A lot of the regulars use the abbreviated words when describing conditions or meds, which sometimes I am not sure of. I suppose I will know I am an old hand when I start doing the same.
