Nearly every time I go to the supermarket I am wandering around aimlessly (no appetite) and suddenly out of the blue I start to wheeze and get tightness in my chest. I now use Ventolin before I go. The same thing has happened to me on buses. I have been sitting there minding my own business, someone gets on and sits in front of me and I start wheezing. Always carry your reliever inhaler if you have one with you. Hope this has helped. hugs xx

Yes there are many shops i dont go in now as they all seem to have some sort of smelly wafting out , thats apart from the people who drown them selves in smelly stuff , and i have been to several hospital app and been in a right state because people seem to think they need to fall in a vat of stinking so called perfume before they go . xx

Yeah, on the bus. You get a combination of about 20 old ladies perfumes and it makes me feel rotten by the time I get to my stop.

Since My spell in ICU in 2008 I smell other people's body odour but no one else seems to? Short haired dogs and cleaning fluids will take my breath away. That yellow rapeseed field I can smell well be for I see it! It also makes me feel ill.

My son has very strong air fresheners in his car, they have given me exacerbations so they had to be dumped.Although I smoked for years I now want to cross the road rather than pass close to somebody smoking.D.

Hi all, i do my shopping online now, not to be submitted to all these smells. I try to limit my washing to products for sensitive skin, but they put "fragrance" in which makes me sneeze and cough.

I am very self conscious, especially as I sweat at night, so I clean myself thoroughly in the morning and put some moisturiser on myself, but no after shave! I hope I don't smell! (Only a little bit when I know my wife will come and see me. But I feel uncomfortable wearing any).

My sister-in-law had a good solution: if your toilet smells after you've been, open the window and shut the door!

I can't go in that big shop begins with D it has the perfume counter right at the front of the store so if I want anything out of that store I hold my nose and pray I can get to the back without any delay. My old man brings back coco channel for me a small bottle lasts ages and I wash with Johnson's baby shower but that is my limit can't tolerate much these days

I can't walk through any Perfume Department. If I have to I take a deep breath and hurry through. Once or twice I have been in a restaurant where the tables are a little close and if anyone sits near with perfume or aftershave plastered on I nearly choke. Shame because I can't wear perfume. Can't drink alcohol for the same reason. Have always wished cigarettes had had the same effect.

i am constantly bombarded by perfumes, air sprays, soap powders in supermarkets and so on. I have been sensitive to them from before my diagnosis but i was told that i had had TB as a child which was untreated so perhaps that is the reason i have been this way. Now that i have severe emphysema i am even more affected and i try to avoid such smells etc but its not easy. Some people seem to pour on perfume like its going out of fashion and they leave a potent vapor trail wafting behind them!!

Ally our home is totally fragrance free, toiletrie ,laundry, cleaning, products, all free of perfume, the problem we have is perfume being transfered to our clothing ,from seating in surgeries and restaurants ,any seating really, that a person with clothing laundered with a high level of perfume ,has previously, sat on so now we cover seating with plastic bags or newspaper,so as not bring home with us ,,,hope this helps it works for me ,,,

I had a sinus infection a month ago I had no symptoms. ENT said it was bad he gave me antibiotics. 2 weeks later all gone than he put a tube in nasal and down throat. He said I had Alot in my throat . He said nasal spray 2 of them would clear it up. Slowly but surely coming out. Ever since then every smell bothers me EVERYTHING!! . Hair spray I went through the whole house candles, perfumes, I can taste it on my toungue. When someone walks by me . My chest starts pounding for inhalers. Is this normal for asthma. I been on short term disability for 4 months. Any advice for me it's hard to get out . Please let me know
