Went out for a cream tea with friends, first social outing for months, had an enjoyable time and a delicious tea, now I have a blooming cold. Sneeze cough wheeze. Hope it doesn't go into an infection.

Hope so Suzy, take vic c and zinc, eat garlic, take paracetamol to keep temp down, drink loads, sure you already know all this, it is such a downer when this happens after a good time, I know sometimes I do think what's the point, how long is this going to last when I feel good , sort of spoils things, hope you rest up and begin to feel better x x x

Yes lots of vitamin C - take as much as you can!! Manuka honey is great too. I so hope it doesn't develop. I agree life is damn unfair sometimes! Keep an eye on it though and if you think an infection is starting don't hang around - get to the Doctor. Take good care and hope you feel much better, TAD xxx

What a shame after an enjoyable day out. I hope it doesn't develop into something more serious Take note of previous good advice.

Hi Suzy, What a shame that this had to happen. If its any consolation you would not have caught your cold from your outing as it takes several days for the virus to appear after you have been in contact with it. I'm sure you know this already, and just do what the others have suggested. There is nothing I can add but keep indoors and if you have emergency medication then take it. If you think it has spread to your chest go to the doc immediately for antibiotics. I'm sorry this has happened after your first outing, but at least you have the nice memories of it and more importantly, others to look forward to. I hope you feel better soon and that your cold does not spread anywhere. Take care. hugs xxx

I agree with Sohara to get in Vicks First Defence. I always make sure I have it and am sure it helps. You just squirt it up your nose. Its worth a try.

What a bummer!! Always happens..I think you must have had the virus beforehand though as it takes a cpl days to surface..Plenty of fluids and vitamin c helps and honey lots of it!! Hope you feel better soon Suzy, and if you think its heading for the chest, get those Antibiotics hun..The sooner the better..Get well soon Big hugs Laura xx

I know its probably too late for this cold Suzy, but do get some Vicks 'First Defense' in so you have it to hand, its really marvelous for stopping colds , but you do need to use it at the 1st symptoms. I even use it even before I get any symptoms if I have been in the company of someone with a cold. It does work, but you have to get in fast, it wont work once the cold is established

Hope you are lucky re the cold. for me though once I get a cold it ALWAYS goes into a chest infection eventually, so my doctor said to start the ab's straight away, you may prevent it getting a big hold on you

Love Sohara

Oh dear Suzy, I hope for you it's "only" a cold. Check your sputum, though, don't let it go brown/green.Keep warm - it's not warm here, but tomorrow we have a heat wave! Take great care, hugs, MIke

Hi Suzy, sorry your social event brought about a possible cold. When I start to feel a cold coming on, I immediately start a regiment of vit c, zinc, vit d and manuka honey. If I start to feel it's going into my chest , I start taking my emergency antibiotics. I take a z-pack. I have read that every time we suffer from a chest infection, it reduces our lung function even more, so I don't take chances. My doc. Always writes me prescriptions to keep on hand. Hope this helps....and hope you feeling better real soon.barbara
