The Neurologist was a very very very nice man. :)

At 8.30 this morning I had a meeting with a neurologist to discuss the results of some EEG tests that my GP had carried out following an episode I had 5 months ago. My GP had asked me not to drive until I had seen him and he would have the final decision on whether I had an epileptic seizure or not.

I'm am very pleased to say that he was not convinced it was epilepsy and the single episode I had was explainable due to the circumstances that led up to it. (Hot bath and cleaning bathroom with domestos) silly me!!

He then said I was ok to drive again so guess what I'm going to do now, YES! start the car up and go out for a little drive. :)

Tony

Not driving for 5 months, I don't know how you managed. Nice to hear some good news. Enjoy your outing in the car.

That's the crazy part of this I was allowed to drive until about a month back when the results of the second EEG test (sleep test) came through, that's when the GP told me I wasn't to drive until I had seen the neurologist. The neurologist thought it was odd that my GP hadn't stopped me 5 months back.

I'm glad she didn't as using the buses through the winter would have been so much more difficult.

Thanks BB, Now where did I put those damn car key's :)

You have no idea how much I'd love to be going with you. The first few scenes just make you want to get out there. Just enjoy your drive, but be careful and don't go and get stopped for speeding or something daft!! Ha ha.

Oh that's such FANTASTIC news, I know how much I would miss having my Driving Licence

I LOVE that song....and yes you certainly were born to be wild Dall :) :) :)

Ok next stop ...botty op and NEW lungs

YEAH

Bum op is still on for this Thursday even though I was still showing positive for MRSA after last Wednesday's swab recheck. The surgeon say's good to go as long as the ward can spare a side room for the leper. I guess it'll be phone on the day and cross my fingers, I was told that I would be last on the operating table so I don't pass on the MRSA to someone after me.

One thing at least I can drive myself there. :)

Great news, so pleased for you. I'm glad Sohara brought up the other little problem. Any idea when you'll get that sorted?

Happy driving on the open road! xx

Thanks Chris, I have a check on the ulcer in my eye on Thursday morning at Kidderminster hospital and then its on to Worcester Royal in the afternoon for the bum op followed by a few days stay in while they re-adjust my wafarin back from heprin. The last time this was done 3 1/2 years ago I got a massive blood clot/Pulmonary embolism so their taking no chances this time.

Its been a beautiful day, 'I drove :) ' my son to Worcester and while he was in an interview at college I did my 4 bridges river walk, sat in the sun and watched the busy world go by. xx

Very pleased to hear you have an 'all clear'. And thank you - I love the Steppenwolf song and had not listened to it for ages. xx

It seems my electric brain is under control, no more hot baths and cleaning with domestos for me. Those 2 EEG tests and a meeting with the neurologist must have cost the NHS a small fortune not to mention the fright it gave me at the time and then the driving thing.

Oh well its all behind me now and it was a great feeling to be back on the road again singing Born to be wild. :) Ok it was a Renault Clio and not a chopper motorbike but it still felt great xx

Nice choice oh great one. Just don't want to see you parked in the middle of a lay - by, just because you have a blue badge. Remember we still have that hill to climb. Practiced at the week end got up and down the hill on 2 legs without vinegar and brown paper! Now all I have to do is plug into an Oxy tanker and make my way up to you. See you soon love Dozy xx :)

When your ready for the Malvern Hills challenge DD I'll get a good stock of oxygen in and a defibrillator on standby :)

How did the extreme camping go?

I did use my blue badge today which was so much better than using my bus pass.

Hi Tony. Good news all around then! Glad you are in the driving seat again. Hope you had a good drive and a good day.

We'll be thinking of you on Thursday and waiting for an update. Sara xx

Its great to be behind the wheel again and not planning every journey with multiple bus changes to sort out. It was fun for a while but I wouldn't have liked it if the weather had been worse. Can't beat your tin overcoat waiting just outside the door.

Thursday, well I'll think about that when and if it happens. Thanks Sara

Tony xx

Wow how wonderful for you, always loved that song to,enjoyed listening to it again! Now,don't be a lead foot please,no speeding tickets!!!
