Benefits and work announced it from information received from an non verifiable source within DWP via a leaked memo. It's only people due for re-assessment, apparently, who will be exempt though, the assessments for new claims or those with a change in their condition will continue to be assessed. benefitsandwork.co.uk/news/...

my sister in law has just been told by dwp she will not be assessed for two years all people from jan this year. atos are no longer doing assessments mps have held a meeting to discuss the situation on assessments and have agreed to dwp finding new company to carry out assessments.in two years time.atos are not doing anymore assessments.they have been in discussion with dwp to get out of their contract

Whilst they are wishing to end their contract early, and are no longer doing re-assessments, they are still doing assessments on new claims, and those who have a change in their illness, ie someone currently on WRAG but with worsening conditions, will be re-assessed by atos. DWP have put a stop to the rolling re-assessments, as it was creating such a tremendous backlog.
