TERRIFIED URGENT INFO _ CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHERE THE MUCUS COMES FROM WITH A PND

I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR OVER A YEAR WHEREAS I AM LITERALLY VOMITING/SUCKING VAST AMOUNTS OF MUCUS FROM DEEP IN MY CHEST/STOMACH AND MAINLY FROM THE BACK OF MY NOSE, I DO HAVE SEVERE COPD /BROCHIECTASIS , BUT THE PAST COUPLE OF MONTHS THE QUANTITY IS REALLY REALLY VAST, MY MEDICS DON,T SEEM TO KNOW, ITS BEEN THAT BAD OVER THIS WEEK I AM REALLY SCARED. PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN X I HAVE HAD CAMERA DOWN TWICE FOR STOMACH PROBLEMS AND I AM TOLD THAT ALL IS WELL IN MY UPPER GI

if you are able try to sleep on your side so the mucus can move,as on your back it will make it worse or prop up with plenty of pillows,drink plenty of water,xxx

The site twiceshy is talking about might be Bronchiectasis R Us, specifically for bronchiectatics. Great site but not a large organisation and can sometimes be a little slow but your patience will be worth it as they are a very knowledgeable bunch.

About how much of a hospital type sputum pot are you bringing up hun?

I have times of bring up large amounts of white/clear slime this was reduced with a ompramzle and peptic liquid mainly due to Hiatus Hernia. I do get a very runny nose when eating which I think is the same problem?

I would seek professional advice asap. That way you will get much needed help. Definitely stay off dairy as it creates more mucus and water thins it. Big hug from the group x

Hi Carolg1, , so sorry to hear about your difficulties with the dreaded Mucus , perhaps there may be an answer IN THE MUCUS QUESTION I HAVE JUST ASKED -" === " WHERE DOES ALL THE MUCUS GO " - read my question, where I make the case that when I take a course of STEROIDS, ( 28 in total ), the production mysteriously almost CLEARS UP ALTOGETHER ! at least for a few weeks , - do you take STEROIDS ? , is it not worth trying ? - or at least making the suggestion to your Doctor, that the huge reduction of this blasted mucus CAN be greatly reduced in others by taking Steroids - you have nothing to lose and all to gain ! - Good luck - I do hope you can find an answer or at least some relief from this wretched situation ...

Hi Vittorio, thanks for replying strangely enough I saw my consultant last week and they have given me a course of steroids to see what happens so fingers crossed, the only down side is I don't think they are a good drug long term so I'm not too sure but anything is better than what I'm going through xx
