I expect they get paid a pittance for doing it. No worries, we must just be patient for a few days until they give up - I just hope no one was gullible enough to reply and get sucked in to giving their bank details for a 'consultation'.

I am being bombarded with cold calls from India. I'm usually polite on the phone but know, as soon as I hear " Is that Mr or Mrs bleep. I hang up. It's doing my head in!!!

I have a landline that allows me to block single numbers or some ad hoc. In my case all international calls for rejected. Since I done that it has been peaceful for me.

COLD CALLS ..... the answer's perfectly simple - once you're sure it's an unwanted cold call simply give them a very loud & long blast down the phone with a pea-whistle. They won't call back. Poundshop do them.

SPAM: that's a more difficult one .... it's all done by computer. first someone somewhere 'harvests' email addresses, usually from questionnaires or competition entries or 'get an iphone for ziltch' type thingy's, or maybe even by hacking the HealthUnlocked member database. A load of those harvested emails then get sold as lists to any number of marketing organisations ..... & thereafter they've got you ..... forever.

No one sits down doing anything, it's all done automatically and costs absolutely nothing. If they hook one person in every 5 million, they've made money.
