my partner has severe emphysema and the doc added seretide to his spireva and ventolin a couple of months ago. it made a huge difference to his cough and his energy levels so was def a positive thing. everyone is different but for him it was really good.

Hi there, I have been using Seretide for 10 years and it has always been fine. I use a spacer with it and that helps me dose properly. Perhaps ask your local COPD nurse yo check your inhaler technique ?

Good luck

I have been using seretide 2 puffs twice a day, atrovent 3 puffs three times a day and ventolin as and when needed for a number of years and have found the combination to work well. I could not get on with Spiriva dry powder or any other dry powder inhalers as they affected the back of my throat making things worse. My emphysema is getting progressively worse but I am putting it down to getting older.

I too have severe COPD. I'm on Seretide-500, the blue purple powder dispensing disc thingy. My understanding is that Seretide is a long term preventer, easing breathing over a 24-hour period. I'm not so sure you would notice a difference, unlike the blue Salamol puffer, a reliever, where you can almost instantly notice a huge difference & which, in my life, is an elixir of life I could not be without.

Hello councillor, I have severe emphysema and on seretide 500, sebree and ventolin easyhaler, In my experience the seretide does help as one time I ran out for a couple of days and did notice my breathing suffered without it so yes do take it as a 24 hour preventer, take care and keep well.

i have only used the seretide twice,I was given it yesterday and today my breathing has been much better.I was using the ventolin a lot and it reality my breathing eased when I rested whether I took it or not. I took the seretide at 10am and again at 10pm and my breathing is better than it has been for months and only used the ventolin once. I am over the moon!!
