Mimi - that was a good post to read. I have at least 3 situations to be really stressed about at the moment, believe me. I took the stress test and came through ok which surprises me. Mindfulness seems a good thing to study. I do have the technique of taking a stressful situation, looking at it and "taking one step at a time" I will do things that might help. House moving is a good study for example. Google it, make lists, collect information and study the new area intensively. Look at your old abode and think - a good book well read. Healthwise - I wont go down that road. I was ok when I was younger but anno domini creeps up. Thanks for your info. xx
I was sent on one of these courses last year. I enjoyed it.
Yes I went to one too,at community health, over a year ago, thoroughly recommend it. Xx
Sorry tried this test, not really helpful.
Has me thinking
Hi Stitch, The Dr sent me to a counseller (Spelling) and she sent me onto that course and then another one by MIND called Wellness. The mindfulness was once a week for 6 weeks and the wellness one was for 12 weeks. I still meet up with 3 people flrom the wellness one. xx
Exercise is also a way to combat anxiety. especially the anxiety of breathing. You can do them at home (check the videos I posted a few weeks ago called Shortness of breath video. Click on the three little bars on the right of the green band. In search write this, you will find the videos to help you and others.
I enjoyed going to the mindfulness session. mainly for the relaxation bits although one time, after I came out, I felt unsteady and my legs were like jelly lol, I didn't like that.
I think most of us found it very hard to concentrate enough on the objects we were given to feel, discribe ect... Once, we had to hold, feel, discribe a currant, then eat it slowly, feeling the texture, taste and so on. We all felt very silly doing it. But overall, it was a good experience and I met some nice people.
Yoga, both mind and body xx
Wondeing whether to go for the Mindfulness Course in line ? will it help with my anxiety and agraphobia - feeling very down with it all at the moment- any advice from anyone ?
