Had ct scan today ....Monday having dexa sca.n and thursday im at my rheumatologist ........

Hoping to get to see my eldest daughter for her birthday at weekend xxx judith the pic is of my dear boy Billy who taught me so much about myself before he was sadly put to sleep some five years ago xxx he was very naughty but everyone loved him xx

May I just ask, are copd & rheumatoid conditions linked in any way? I am having terrible trouble with my hands at the moment : (

Hi Jemash

They arent sure yet ....but im convinced theres a link. I had raised alt in liver for five years and all dr kept asking was how muvh alcohol did i drink!! At same time each autumn /winter till early spring i was knocked out with horrendous chest infections (which alwayz went to my left lung due to previous pneumonia in it) last april my right fingers swelled up to double size but looking back id not been abld to open lids off jars or bottles for some years. My rheumy said the raised liver was almost certainly inflamation in body or infection combo both. Now on meds it has come down.

But xmas i came down with another chest infec which has knocked me for six my hands and elbows are really sore and ive come out in funny rash random places nose and wrist.

I saw my new chest consultant last week and he said they could be linked hence ct scan . Its so odd ...how did yours start chest ?? Ill keep you updated hope you get some relief. Love Judith xxx

Thanks for your reply Judith : ) my copd diagnosis was from a chest infection! That was dec 2012 my fingers started playing up oct last year & they thought it was nerve entrapment! But have been for tests & it doesn't seem to be the case! I am having a mri scan to look at my spine & also being sent to a reumatoligist! Just want to be free of the discomfort, as its with me day & night stay as well as you can & please keep me posted, take care, liz xx

Oh bless you x well dont be fobbed off my last chest dr said i didnt have rheumy !!! my rheumy dr was furious but this was a dr who just gave me an inhaler no tests nothing i wasted a year with him. You keep well and let me know how you get on too xxx

Hi Tigershy how bonny did Billy look sounds like he had quite a personality bless him.Your having a busy old week enjoy your daughters b'day weekend how old is she? I hope all your results show a clear picture of whats going on with you and a good plan of action to deal with it,as its been a ropey ride for the last few weeks for you eh?
