Thats right and the DWP have admitted it too.

We are still fighting for an exemption because our grandson needs overnight care and our 'spare bedroom' is where the carers sleep. We are going to the High Court over this unfair policy.

A BBC film about our story can be seen here if anyone is interested.

I can't afford my private rent but can't move into public owned accommodation as i too need a rom for a carer to sleep overnight. What a crazy law. Good luck with your campaign.

Thanks for that Juliekkay, I am sure it will be of help to quite a few people and their families on this site.

Hope you all get some money back. Unfortunately, they are going flat out to close the loophole so the relief will be short lived but in the mean time.....when the cash in their pocket is better off in yours, grab it.
