No show from Atos on home visit

I posted a view days ago asking what to expect during an Atos home visit. Well, as a few of you said, they haven't turned up! I've phoned them and am waiting for a return call to find out why. This claim has been going since April, and I've waited all this time anyway. Surely I shouldn't have to wait much longer?

I'm so sorry to hear this sguidgeum, they're unbelievable aren't they,as I said yesterday they didn't turn up to me back in November either.i think it's a disgusting way to treat people.i,like you have been waiting a while now (may) and I assumed it was all suppose to take no more than a few months.i wrote to my MP to complain, and I know he has written to them for reasons, but to date I've heard nothing.and when I call they just say, they will get round to you when they can.useless.

Good luck

Xx

squidjeum l think the rules for having apointments at your home will be different to those in the office and l would assume that they will get you to show them how you do things at home and this could be based on a back to work bassies so ld be carefull if l was you my friend had the same thing and she was found fit for some work and she had to go to the a 4e and pathways to work

Hi, I had them come and see me last year, she was a retired doctor. She asked me questions on how I got about in the home and what I could do i.e make tea etc. She then got me to stand and bend over as far as I could. She asked the same question in different ways to try to catch you out. They are paid by the goverment to get you back to work. If you go to them they send you back to work saying you can get about.. If they come to you, they are trying to see what you can do or can't. I have C.O.P.D. Ischeamic heart decease, diabetis and a few other problems so she was nice to me. Good luck, let me know how you get on. Chris

I finally got a call at 4.45 pm, apparently they sent the letter, then forgot to book the doctor!! Unbelievable isn't it? They asked me to be here Friday morning, which I can't make, and told me I'd have to wait a long while for another appointment then......at which point I blew my top.

I asked if they thought it was acceptable to treat ill people with such disrespect and rudeness, and if they thought that our time was so worthless, because if so then I thought they were being discriminatory! As I have already been waiting since July, I told them I wanted an appointment before the end of this month or I'd be going to my local MP. They then offered me from the 21 st to the 25 th, with various time slots. Funny that isn't it? I'm absolutely disgusted with this, especially as the DWP just pass you back to ATOS and tell you to complain to them.

I have also been waiting since May 2013 I don't get any money at all from ESA and my claim for DLA which was put in the same time I'm still waiting. I have contacted my MP about changing the rules for people with lung problems and being assessed under special rules he sent a letter to the minister of state for disabled people and we are progressive disease with a continuous steady decline in lung function what I would like us all to do is set up a on line partition at no 10 not sure how we do this me and technology don't get along but I'm talking to Carol tomorrow to see if we can get this reply on this web site.

What makes me mad is if you do not turn up or may be late. They seem to have the right to take our benefit away. They break their own time contract and we have to roll over and accept it because we do not have a life in their opinion.

Hope the visit when it happen goes in your favour.

Be Well
