I am 54 years old from London.I have had sarcoidosis for about 14 years and have since developed pulmonary hypertension. I am on oxygen 24 hours at 8 lpm at rest and up to 15 when active, which for me is walking about 5 yards. I get about on a scooter and bought an adapted van so I get about a bit although it is a major operation getting ready. I am usually pretty upbeat about my illness but do have the occasional feel sorry for myself moments. Since retiring I have attended university, originally full time but went part time when my condition deteriorated. I now have just my final year dissertation to do to get my BA in Politics and International Relations then hopefully on to do a Masters. Couldn't have done it while still at work, he said in a half glass full moment. So being ill is not the end of the world. Even managed a one semester study abroad in USA. This community seems very friendly and helpful so I look forward to a long and fruitful association.

I've made few replies on this site but have realised I have never introduced myself. A bit rude on my part.
