The Twelve Days of Christmas: a Parody

Introduction

This bit of nonsense came to me after listening to a "12 Days..." parody on the late-night Jimmy Fallon show that aired December 21st, 2011.

We have recently acquired 2 new kittens, bringing our total cat-count up to 6. Since we are experienced cat-owners (er...the cats have just corrected me--cat servants), we are well familiar with the sort of havoc they can wreak.

Despite their talent and penchant for mischief, they never fail to deliver a smile or offer purry comfort. So, with tongue-in-cheek, and love in my heart, I dedicate this spoof to my darling kitty-cats.

The Tune is Somehow Familiar...

You know this old tune--join in and sing along! For you doggy-owners, feel free to change "cat" to "dog" where needed, but I don't know what to tell you about the purring references. ;-)

Hi Berwick. We don't own a cat as such. We have a borrowed one. He comes and stays all day and would stay all night if I let him. I think he has a bit of Siamese in him and he can be quite feisty. He has just taken yet another chunk out of my arm this morning. He looks quite sorry after. I wonder if he gets wound up at home because it is usually when he first comes in that he does it. At one time he had a huge great absess on his side . he had it for a week or so and was in agony. the owners didnt bother to get it treated so in the end i rang the RSPCA and they said to take him in. he was operated on that night. We had a note after with a phone number so i rang them and told them it was me and i didnt know where they lived. The abcess came up again after and they left him again so i rang them up and i spoke to the Husband who said his wife would be dealing with it. The cat was under our table and would growl or hiss when you went anywhere near him. we waited in all day for them to pick him up and they didnt turn up. At 5.00 am in the morning the cat was desperate to go out so i let him. he didnt come back till the evening and he had had the operation. This last week he has had a bad leg but i dont know if they have done anything about it. it is better now. so you see why we dont worry about having him in. He doesn't seem to want to go home anyway. We just love him to bits. I just hope the owners don't decide to move away because I would miss him so much. By the way I was mentally sing along to the twelve cats of Christmas. Hubby has the TV on so couldn't sing out loud. He doesn't appreciate music anyway. Take care. Mavis. X

I have three all girls. Ziggy is the elderstates woman at the old age of 18' ,along with the three cats we have two standard poodles twins, all ladies andthen is my good lady of 42 years. She is my rock. What chance have i got with all theses women in my life. Lolxxx

Thats brilliant, I was sat with a grin on my face whilst reading it and visualizing our rescue cats doing everything you noted. We have more baubles on the floor than on the tree at the moment!!! Thanks for cheering me up and I hope you and everyone on the BLF site have a wonderful and joyful Christmas without too much discomfort
