Hello Katkat, I'm no expert but someone will be along soon who can offer advice.

In the meantime, if you're old enough I believe Age UK or Citizens Advice Bureau.

Good tips from peeg asking Age UK or Citizens advice to help you fill the form in.

Good luck with it.

Would defo get a benefits expert involved Welfare Rights, CAB, DIAL.

Good luck cx

Photo copy your form when its been done .. And list every little thing head to toe if thay dont ask tell them

Pip is more about care you recive than your illness

I suppose you could ask your pulmonary nurse too. You can say that you're disabled and cannot go out easily. On the phone to the CAB, you can use this argument too.Ask the BLF help line 03000 030 555, Mon to Fri 10 am till 1 pm. Good luck.

like daz says put every single thing on the form the more information you can put on every section of the form the more you tell them how your life is affected then the more chance you will get it without having a face to face and because atos are not doing the pips anymore you wiil be assessed under the old system dla remember no short answers. atos scumbags have moved on to termilly ill patients & under 16 year olds but there is uproar in the commons about this how can they put someone terminal you can do ajob good luck

I recently had mine filled in by a lady at cab. She was very knowledgable about the decease and wrote loads of stuff. We usually adapt to our breathing problems but she wrote things on the form like when Im cooking I`ll sit down on the kitchen stool as much as I can which I have done for a while now but don`t really think about it, it`s normal to me.She did however tell me that it takes about 6 months before you actually know if your will get an award but its backdated tho.

My advice would be to be truthful but concentrate on how it affects you, not saying "on a good day I can ...." because let's face it, we never know when or if we're going to have a good day. I was awarded mobility first time and low level care first time, and filled it out myself. Am worrying though, as they are doing away with the low level care, will I lose that element altogether, or put me up to the medium care. I definitely qualify for medium care now but daren't apply again as you never know what they're going to do, doesn't seem any rhyme or reason to who gets it. Get some help with the form and get it sent off, your award will be backdated to when you asked for the form, the sooner the better. Good luck. Sadie xx

Sadie i will finish the form off over the weekend and keep my fingers crossed and the dwp are reviewing all old claims like yours but it will take time so don't worry x

Hi katkat, after reading your post and chrissie's reply below about points (thanks chrissie!) it prompted me to have a root around on the internet and found this. It tells you how many points you can get and nearer the bottom how many points you need to qualify. Very useful. Sadie xx
