Watch out everyone with this flu bug around at the moment. I was due to get my flu jab last Saturday but couldn't go because I got flu last week. I have been ill since last Sunday and not fully recovered yet. It's very nasty. It starts off with a very sore throat, then the sniffles then the cough and just when you think it's an ordinary cold you get the aching everywhere and the dizziness and the hot and cold sensations. It really knocks the stuffing out of you. If you do catch it take it seriously and don't try and do too much. I underestimated mine and paid the price! Hope you all keep fit and well and no one gets it on here.

Hi hypercat yep a felt like a was going to pass about .. By far worse i have ever had and i had flu jab few days before a got as you have very well described .
Its been horrendous ... anyway hope you over worse all the best

Hi Daz, sounds like a nasty one. Hope you feel better. The jab takes a matter f weeks to be fully effective so i think you were really unlucky to catch it so early. Take care of yourself. Alison

Hi Daz.
Lots of people this year seem to be going down with a heavy dose of flu soon after having the flu jab. In all of the recent years I have been a bit off colour for just two or three days after the jab, but this year it has been horrendous. It seems I am not alone. Faulty vaccine?

Thank you appyalison am getting better slowly. On very low income so am having to cut down on heat because of the cost. I just wear more layers lol

So sorry you have had that awful flu it really knocks you about. Rest and look after yourself.
I had my flu jab last Wed and have had a sore throat and earache with feeling like I have flu but no cold hope it is not going to develop into more.

Sorry to hear this Hypercat. I got the vaccine a week and a half ago and since then I've not been well. I didn't the flu just feeling off colour and I've had a kidney infection. Hope your feeling better soon. I miss reading your posts we don't see much of you here anymore.

Oh bless you nanaber that's very kind of you. I'm still around and still very much in touch with what's happening here. I post very little now in case it gets misconstrued by a very small minority here. This has happened on a couple of occasions before and made me a bit 'post shy'. Hope you are well love.

Hi hypercat and Daz, Oh I hope you get over this soon. At least, you will be "vaccinated" against the flu.
I've never had time to take the flu jab, because either I caught pseudomonas, or this year pneumonia. My body is still very weak.
When I did get the pneumonia vaccine, I caught it within a fortnight!. As I have neutropenia (lack of white blood cells), I cannot easily form the necessary antibodies.
Due to the atrocious weather, with cascading rain and driving gale, I'm not going out and not to church. Our church building is being refurbished. So we meet in a smaller hall. I guess any active bug will spread like wildfire. many of us are older, more vulnerable people.
I hope you tow get well and all others, be careful of public places. They are the sources of nasty bugs. Take care, look after your lungs.

Thanks helingmic. It's unrealistic to avoid public place isn't it? But as all of us have lung problems we need to be extra vigilant!

Hi all, I think the flu vaccine changes every year and this year it has laid Pete a bit low. We both had the jab yesterday and Pete was up half the night with a very sore, tender arm and feeling hot and cold all night. He is sleeping now as he is worn out.

Yeah I had the very sore tender arm with last years jab. But it's still best to have the jab than the flu!

Thank you all so much it's very kind of you. Hope you are feeling much better too Daz. I am still left with the heavy sniffly bit and a hacking cough but compared to last week that is much improved! I just wanted to warn you all about this flu and please please everyone be extra vigilant and do everything you can to avoid it.
