Infections after holidays

I really enjoy going on holiday to Tunisia where the weather is warm and dry. It usedto improve my breathing no end. In the last 18 months this hasnt been the case. each time I return i seem to get virul/lung infections. Has any one had a similar experience or have you found any where that is helpful to you.

Hi hopetorun, I also find the dry heat of really hot places (like Egypt, Greece and Cyprus) is helpful for my breathing. The only time I have had a problem is stomach bugs after visits to Egypt, but no chest infections.

we found the same, didn't matter which country we flew to, and came to the conclusion that it was the air quality on the plane, so took a decision to stop gallivanting. We then went on a cruise and when we booked chose an inside cabin on the grounds we wouldn't spend that much time in it, and the same thing happened and we wondered if it was the air conditioning.

The problem is probably the cabin air on the aeroplane that is circulating shared bugs.

I second SecondLife ;) x

Hi Hopetorun, I did not have this experience travelling from Tunisia, however, for years when I travelled back from Ibiza the next day I would be ill with an infection. I thought at first it was the change in the temperatures but then I realised it was the passenger age group on the flights. On other holidays the passengers were ordinary families, but from Ibiza the age group is more towards the younger end, especially during the July/Aug time. These youngsters go from club to club and do not drink enough water and so they become infected and on cheap flights home, so does everyone else. If you have a lung condition you are obviously more inclined to catch their bugs. It is not all bad, now that we are retired my husband and I go in the quieter months and up to now, I have remained bug free after each flight. Good luck, and keep well. Maximonkey
