my Granddaughter to the park where she played for 2 hours and didn't want to leave.Last week I took her to a play centre where she played for 2 hours and it cost 5 pounds. Both were enjoyed equally so why when parks are free do we pay for activities?

Park everyday may not be quite so appealing. Different activities seem to be the key. The cheaper the better! :-) Alison

I guess coz activities at a play centre require supervision whereas parks don't at the point of use. Glad she enjoyed it.

Never saw any supervision. There was a girl on the desk taking the money and a girl at the cafe and that was it.I agree that there is a need for these places in our climate though.

Gail, I think the main reason for going for indoor activities may be our glorious weather!

My poor little grandson went to the park with his mom and some friends yesterday and fell and hurt his wrist, they ended up in A&E for 4 hours, luckily it was only a sprain but I think he would have liked to have had it plastered. He is o.k. this morning, using it normally thank goodness.

Oh, I was sooooo jealous when the boy next door had a pot on his wrist. I threw myself all over the place trying to break something. Mind you, I was only 4 at the time!

Poor thing and he doesn't even have a plaster cast to show off.

Parks do seem to be out of fashion these days.

Variety is the key laig. It also depends on how old the child is. Our grandson is 14 months on Saturday and is easily pleased with a saucepan and a wooden spoon although he has lots of toys at home. He likes to play with one thing one day and something else the next. Lovely. xxxx
