The Doctor. The Alcohol. And The Valium...

So I am presently in Yorkshire visiting Family. Yesterday, I was walking through sunny Skipton and suddenly felt my chest hurt, I was dizzy and I couldn't breathe properly, as this was all very new and exciting I opted to visit the doctor, and on account of that, I finally have a diagnosis to why I have been having a difficult time inhaling deeply! Apparently, my left lung is working marvellously, my right one however is not working quite as well. I have an infection and am now on antibiotics (for which I am absolutely delighted) I have always responded well to Amoxyacillin and it always works very quickly with me, so by later today I will start to see a dramatic improvement in my situation, buy the weekend, I will be breathing normally again and the infection will have gone.

I did get drunk yesterday however, which wasn't very cleaver as I'm now sat here under the influence if Valium after waking up in the midst of super anxiety, that will teach me ;)

Anyway, onto the recovery process,mi sincerely hope that the antibiotics do help this.

I wanted to ask, has anyone else had the same issue where it's hard to get a satisfying deep breath due to infection? And if so, what did you do to help the situation whilst you were recovering?

I actually find that it's the only time that my ventolin inhaler seems to help me. In such situations, my GP says to use it as much as I feel the need.

Glad to hear you got the antibiotics and that you will be on the mend soon! My husband has to use his nebuliser when he has an infection as he finds it very difficult to breath with his ventolin inhaler. TAD xx
