Is it normal?

I recently had to call the doctors for my repeat prescription and was told i do not have a repeat prescription for my meds for COPD.

I was then told i would have to see the doctor in three weeks . After explaining i would run out of my meds in two i was then told the soonest i could get to see a doctor was in two weeks.

I recently had a full teeth extraction 24 teeth in total and when i asked for a sick note for my second week i was told you do not get a second week sick note for a routine tooth extraction. Was told by dentist to take Ibuprofen but cant because i have a raging stomach ulcer and then told to go to my doctor. Doctor says just go back to the dentist. Unfortunately living on yoghurt for three weeks now has given me severe diarrhea. cant even force my self to eat something sort of normal because all my jaw bones are now cutting through my gums and hurt like there is no tomorrow. Cant keep living like this it is driving me mad. This is depressing me i cant even enjoy the sun we are having. Cant breath properly cant eat and cant go out because i feel i will need the toilet every two minutes. Yoghurt does not give me enough energy to do anything.

Totally in despair. I have now made several complaints about my doctors surgery and nothing seems to be coming from it.

Changing doctors at the moment but need to understand what i am doing wrong for this all to be going so pear shaped.

Totally in despair. Please someone got any answers or advice.

How do i get something done.

Thanks Gaz

Hi gazath, I am very shocked at the way you are being treated. Others will be along to give you useful advice but in the meantime perhaps you could call the BLF helpline on 03000 030 555, 10 - 6, Monday to Friday, they are very knowledgeable and will be able to help you. Sorry I can't be more useful and hope you can get things sorted. Best wishes, Libby

Phone BLF Helpline on 03000 030 555 now! I am sure they will be able to give you proper advice to start turning things around. Feel for you Gaz - it will change for you, just ring the helpline as soon as possible. :) xx

No it is not normal - it is terrible. I would contact the dentist again though - my dentist is really good and I would hope they might be able to help you too. PLEASE phone the helpline and get some advise. Good Luck and hope you start to feel better soon. TAD xx

Just having read your reply willowgirl, I'd mention that I'm using Fresubin at the mo, on prescription, you mix it with full fat milk and it's like a milkshake, over 400 calories, I'm sure you'd be able to manage these gazath or, as your gp is being so horrible, there are several similar supplements you can buy in the chemist/supermarket. That is quite shocking gazath. I would try soup. Liquidizing sounds like a good idea. Hope helpline can be of more assistance. Worried about you. good luck, Alison

Gazath if I was you I would go to NHS walk-in clinic or ring the NHS help line for advice. Keep drinking liquid to spite the runs so you don't dehydrate. If all else fails go to your nearest A & E before you become very ill or insist on an emergency doctors appointment. Best wishes for speedy help

Gaz,

That is disgraceful treatment, actually it isn't treatment at all it is neglect! What a horrid GP.

Apart from not doing anything to help you, that is a very odd statement about you don't get two weeks sick notes for teeth extraction. Surely you get a sick note when your health is not up to working, and you are clearly not. I had sick notes for 4 years a decade ago. One week is nothing!

I hope you get better help ASAP you certainly can't carry on suffering like that any longer.

As others have said there is nutritious food available in liquid form, as milk shakes or soups, for example. I have personally had shakes and soups from a clinical nutritionist and they taste really nice and are packed full of nutrients.

I agree with the others who said phone the BLF helpline, otherwise I don't know if it's the right advice but I might be inclined to phone an ambulance, you sound really overwhelmed by all the nasty medical issues you are suffering.

Big hug
