Flipping hospital appointments.

Some weeks ago I was informed by my Respiratory nurse that I had an appointment for a CT scan last Friday at 5pm, I even commented on the time.

Having no letter of confirmation I phoned to check the time only to be told I was not on the list.

I phoned said nurse yesterday who looked on the computer and there was nothing there, looks like I was put on and taken off.

I have been waiting for this appointment since February.

Lets hope it comes through soon now.

How exasperating for you Polly. Why does such a seemingly simple thing to be arranged go so haywire, leaving you to do all the chasing when not in the best of health. Shaking head here - warm wishes in the meantime xx

My local area GP's and hospitals have been exemplery for several years. The one fly in the ointment has been the eye hospital. 16 of us arrived at 8am. There was just one surgeon on duty which meant the last person went in for their op at 4pm. Where is the sense in keeping all those people hanging about for so long. Surely the times could have been staggered. I think it was sheer idleness on someone's part. Needless to say a missive was despatched to the Area Health Authority.
