So sorry Ros hope you can get the coughing quietened down so your ribs can recover.

Manuka honey maybe?

Take care and feel better soon.

Two Codeine Phosphate BC, that I was given when I broke my floating rib.

Grrrs, its like waiting for the next bus on a Sunday.

Manuka Honey was used the the war for healing wounds, has a healing property,

Well, so is said?

My daughter spent a fortune on it to help her after a major op. So I am a wee

bit iffy on this.

Just going to change cushion covers, back l8ters lol

yep codeine for the pain, honey and lemon for the cough, or a nice hot toddy, works for me. oh! and tiger balm helps with the muscular spasms, hope this helps.

Join the club Ros. I couldn't believe it when my GP told me I'd fractured a rib through a major 'hard' coughing fit around 6 weeks ago now. At first she thought I'd pulled a few muscles - weeks passed and the pain got much worse - then realised what I'd done. Thing is - you can't avoid one of those ruddy coughing fits - and it hurts like hell when you've already done the damage!

Just take it easy and plenty of painkillers. I've learned on here that I'm really not alone with things that have/are happening to me with this condition - and it's such a relief!!

Even if it is fractured guess there is nothing you can do other than

wait for it to mend on its own and give pain management Jean. I only broke

my ribs falling about 8 months ago. Argh . .

I really cant face any more rest.

Luckily I still have some codeine phosphate left.

Thank you.

Yay it is good to share.

I nearly had one just now with toast - almost went down wrong way so had a sip of water and thankfully it all went down te right way as I deliberately swallowed - think the key is to concentrate on not breathing in at the time of swallowing as our throats are not as strong and there is a delay in switching the openings for breath and for swallow.

Take care! thats nasty, lots of est, with a box of choccys! xxx

rest lol!
