Ho hum Part 3

I had to go to the eye hospital yesterday so I took my eyes and my eyes took the car. I was parked up there for 1 hour and 5 minutes. Cost of parking? £3.50.

During that same hour, my youngest son earned the magnificent sum of £2.60 as an apprentice mechanic. There is something really wrong with this country.

Hi Bobby

£2.68 an hour is a bloody disgrace. How on earth can anyone be expected to live on a wage of £2.68 an hour!!!

I know that it's tradition that apprentices are paid low wages but really that is so wrong. I hope that when your son has qualified he will earn really great wages.

Such a low wage must put people off applying for apprenticeships. How long is your son's apprenticeship? Three years? Three years on a minimum wage doesn't bear thinking about.

Love and hugs

Many older people and university graduates are in jobs with minimum pay. It's so hard for young people out there now.

Not being £2.68 an hour ain't worth getting out of bed for, my youngest daughter is 17 and she's getting £3.76 ph at Debenhams, Manchester, just for standing there looking pretty and intelligent, (customer services) not. :)

sorry missed funny out
