02 levels etc...

I am losing my mind here:

Saturday night I had a bad pain, ended up in the hospital for two nights and diagnosed as having gall stones. Ok, fine, apparently this is quite common and won't be a major operation, I know plenty of people who have had the op and everything was good for them...BUT, while in the hospital, due to my 02 levels being low I was given oxygen and this of course brought my 02 levels up again....until I stopped taking the 02 cause I am now home again....I went to my dr today and took my oxymeter with me. It reads exactly the same as my Drs so it is very accurate...but of course while at the Drs it was reading 90 and he wasn't bothered by that'..when I told it has dropped to 74 before he felt I was wrong as I would have been very bad at that low level...I said, "well I wasn't good doc" it's so frustrating as he won't listen to me at all!

Makes you mad doesn't it when they don't seem to listen. A suggestion - if you use the oximeter again and the reading is very low, why don't you take a photo of it as proof? He might listen then ! I did this with something else - it worked !

That is very frustrating, he should take that seriously. When I was in hospital mine dropped into the 70s once, they were all round me taking tests but I didn't feel too bad. Can you see another GP in the practice.

Didn't Hospital Send Letter To Your GP About Your Sats ?

But Yes If Low Again Need To Rest ... Sound Like You Need A Long Stick Or New Gp

The first time I was taken to hospital in 2011 I had my blood gas taken from the vein in my wrist, I will never forget the doctor sliding over on his chair and saying my blood gas was half what it should be and I should be dead. My poor husbands face, I thought he would die on the spot.

I too have a very low blood/ox level especially when lying down. While I feel compromised in breathing terms I just feel very tired. Keep at them. I now have oxygen at night to try and keep my levels up. Good luck.

How annoying ! I think sometimes doctors look at you - decide you look too well to be ill! Perhaps you could take readings regularly for a week and write them down in a chart and then show him the results. Ring the helpline they maybe able to offer practical advise. Good luck keep fighting its your health! Tad x x x

Thanks for the comments. I have written them down, took my stats 3 times a day...offered the sheet of paper to him, but he didnt even glance at it!! I will keep it for my respiratory dr when I go on the 27th. Also, what a great idea, to take a photo of the results..I had not thought of that, thank you x . I don't understand why my 02 levels and my pulse levels are constantly jumping around: 88, 89, 88,87,86, 85,86,85,86 how do I decide which is the correct reading? I have tested it on my husband and his goes straight to 98 ans stays there.
