Hi Janet, I associate shaking hands with low blood sugar - that's when it seems to happen with me anyway. You did eat something yesterday after your saucepan trauma? :)

How the heck did you ever get low blood sugar? The amount of choccy you eat you must be composed of 99% sugar.

blood sugar is fine thanks :)

Hullo, Jan, You need to see your GP to rule out anything. My brother in law has had shaky hands for years, and is 91. Cant watch him with a cup and saucer.

I get shakey hands too Janet, but not everyday. Just turned up a pair of trousers - no shakes. I think it is to do with medication, mine got worse when I went on ADs.

Hi I can't take Ventolin now because it gives me the shakes.

Hi Jan. I can't help much. So far I have avoided the shakey hands. Could it be a reaction to your arson attack on your kitchen yesterday? I hope your hands get back to normal soon.

Love, as always, from

I agree, over medicating with rescue inhaler, ventolin can give your the shakes, make a note of how often you are using it during the day and mention that to your doctor too.

As well the shakes can be a symptom of something else.

I have had a word with the doc and she isn't at all concerned she said it is probably steroid shakes (and too much coffee) but she is sending the nurse to do a BP check and take a smidgen of blood - her words - probably means a bloody armful :D

The times I experienced this it was either down to Ventolin or having one too many cups of coffee. It will probably be down to something simple so don't worry.

Funny you should write this post today - my husband had uncontrollable shaking for about ten minutes this morning but hasn't taken ventolin for a couple of days. Hope it all settles down for you. Take good careTad x x x ps what a great doctor!

I used to suffer quite badly with the shakes, I was told that taking ventolin and some other meds would cause it if taken too close together, try and space them out was the advice. It did help, still get the shakes but not as much. As Jandan says my morning cup of strong coffee to kick start the day could be contributing as I tend to feel shaky shortly afterwards, give up coffee or the shakes, difficult decision.

I wil try spacing my meds out moneal, couldn't give my coffee up got to have some little pleasures so I'll stick with the shakes.
