Think its the warm weather people are outdoors .

in reply to newlands

Could be I suppose, we just had a cracking thunder storm

Oh I hope you are ok now, always smililing comment is a bit worrying ,

It takes one troublemaker to put people off, and judging by PMs there are a whole list of people that have been off - a great shame. And of course there is the good weather.

in reply to

well said Annie. hope your Brian is OK and the chemo is going well for him xx

in reply to

He is having a good day! Long may it continue.

in reply to

Glad to hear Brian having a good day .... :)

Well we don't know anymore who anyone is and what innocuous comment will be complained about. I find it worth popping in to see if there is anyone I can trust on but at the moment prefer not to deliberately put my head on the block.

I hope you are well , and still painting

Well, I hope those responsible won't be too disappointed when they find themselves alone here one of these days Chris. We can all find answers to our medical questions on the internet, via the BLF or NHS Choices etc., but we can't find the humour, friendship (although cyber) and community that keeps our spirits up with this horrendous disease. Very sad. Libby

Never mind Libby, I'm still here. Where are you going? ........

in reply to libby7827

I agree 100% Libby but I think it's what they want, a revered priesthood guiding and advising an admiring group of followers.

Chris

in reply to libby7827

Libby - I am not giving in - why should, I haven't done anything wrong. I hope others will adopt this feeling. Love Annieseed xx

in reply to libby7827

Never a truer word spoken Libby. The community spirit was what made this site special lots of friendly banter and fun It helps as much as any medical advice in some cases more especially for those members in the later stage stages of lung disease or any illness. Its difficult in those circumstances to keep going so any distraction from it is a life line, for those suffering and for carers too. If the pc brigade take over then we become nothing more than robots going through the motions People are slowly being driven away from here, as you say very sad.XXX

O dear that's a shame, I do miss there blogs, I don't blog much , but like to comment at some

It's funny really. Becose it's like a little community very important especially for people that are isolated , live alone , or don't have family , we learn a lot and have a laugh at jokes ect

I'm being choosy too. I've had a couple of snide comments made to me by a couple of people in the last few days, so I'm just posting when there is nothing contentious.

I know what - how is everyone feeling today and has anyone anything exciting planned. The only exciting thing I've got planned is doing the VAT! , but I'm feeling quite good up at 6 am, cleaned the kitchen by 8 am, having a rest and a cup of coffee - no cup cakes to nibble which is a bit upsetting.

Have a good day everyone, get some Vit D.

Well Lib, for the first time in a fortnight (and after 8 days in hosp) I'm feeling as though I'm on the mend! Hurray! Need to tidy up a bit for my lovely cleaning lady so she doesn't break her neck negotiating the area around me - still got stuff from hosp in a bag next to me and I've been home 3 days! Then, when it's all clean and tidy that will cheer me up even more. What would be even better is if a can find a good film noir on youtube and my happiness will be overflowing. (Not to mention that Tesco's just been and I have four Turkish Delights and 3 Cadbury's Marvellous Creations - shhhhhhhhhh!) Libby

Oh sugar! I did I forgot entirely. (Thinks fast, blame wifey.) Sorry about that Libby, I was booted off the computer by wifey who wanted to do some work on it. She has been on here day and night lately. I must admit that 567 kids can cause her a lot of problems.

My answer is to just belt them round the ear but apparently that is frowned upon nowadays. Hey ho.

Im new to this community and I don't blog much but so far I have found everyone very friendly and helpful ;) I think this is a wonderful site with some very useful information and advice from ordinary people who understand what it is like to be breathless most of the time.

A man full of words and not of deeds is like a garden full of weeds.

If this upsets or offends anyone I'm very sorry.

Pleased to hear you're on the mend Libby - hope your not cleaning before your lovely cleaning lady comes, my mum used to do that ! I could do with a lovely cleaning lady.

And empty vessels make the most sound Lib. Didn't get around to tidying, it was a false alarm, went to wash a few pots and was stuck in the kitchen for about 10 mins catching my breath! Haha, is that the sound of vacuuming I can hear on my stairs? Music to my ears. Get yourself a cleaner, she only comes for an hour a week, she's a little demon, unbelievable what she gets done. Well worth the cost (£7.50 and won't take a penny more tho I try!). Libby

I have been wondering what that person was trying to achieve with all that arrogant self righteous PC lecturing on at us. Were they trying to get us to leave the forum? I suppose they were just trying to get attention for themselves more than anything else really. Fake victims get on my nerves.

BUT it's a gloriously sunny day here today so I'm going to go and sunbathe.

Hugs to all except you know who.

I was just keeping my stress levels down, and now everything in the garden is rosey :)

Beautiful sunshine here, and I'm loving it!

The community is for all, not just for the few that are posting on this blog.

Its not for any one or group of individuals who use the forum to decide or to tell another to 'sod off' as has been said above.

Every one should be welcome here, and when people feel the site is generally friendly with kindly and supportive comments I suspect people will join in more.

As it is there are certain persons who keep on accusing another for the problem they are themselves creating purely by keeping on about that person.

There is an easy way to keep the site more friendly and supportive and that is just to be more friendly and supportive to everyone equally or just ignore any one you cannot be welcoming to.

The community is for all.

Have a wonderful weekend every one.

There are more people taking part in this forum than there have ever been, as Mark will confirm. When I first came last year there'd be one or two blogs a day and one or two questions, that's all. Everyone is welcomed here as and when they arrive but when one person causes disruption by objecting to this, that and the other then it naturally causes problems. If a member doesn't like a certain thing then they don't have to read it. I see things I don't like, I ignore it, I don't start world war three by complaining as I know others may get enjoyment from it. I've seen quite a few jokes that, for me, are a bit iffy. What do I say, I don't like it so you're not entitled to like it? I cannot for the life of me understand why a person who objects to so much on this forum would want to be here in the first place. As George said the other day, there is another copd forum which is very serious and can only suggest that anyone who doesn't like a bit of banter and relief from this awful disease, uses that forum instead. On the other hand, they may get their pleasure from staying here and continue to complain. We are all different, all at different stages of our various diseases and therefore all think differently. We are individuals and should be respected as such. Some of us are alone and isolated and appreciate the lighthearted fun, a bright spot in yet another dreary day filled with despair (and yes, there are many times I've been so deep in despair.....) I originally came to this forum looking for help and found it, for which I am eternally grateful. The vast majority of people using this forum are a great bunch and in the time I've been here I've seen some members sort of blossom and come into their own and that's really great. There have been a number of new members recently who have actually commented what a great bunch we are. We all have our own experiences of our illness to be able to offer advice and reassurance. When the new sections come in then perhaps there will be no need for anyone to complain as there will be no reason for them to even look at the lighter side of the forum, but I suspect some still might. Those who complain need to stop complaining and get on with the parts of the forum they feel best suited to. If anyone feels they are being bullied or whatever, they can alert the mods and it will be dealt with, but spouting off diatribes on the forum only causes more problems. There is more than one form of bullying. Talking of diatribes ..... the end!

What an excellent and elegantly put comment, Libby

I do hope people take the time to read it, and absorb the meaning.

in reply to

What an excellent response Libby Expertly explained. I would never dream of dictating to people what they should and should not read. I agree with nowheeze I hope people take time to read and absorb it. xxxxxxx

Libby you are placing the blame at one persons feet entirely, this is not the case as Mark has stated in his blog.

libby7827 profile image
libby7827 in reply to

I quite deliberately did not. I take this as deliberate provocation.

in reply to libby7827

Libby, I agree with you, you most certainly did not.

in reply to libby7827

quoting libby 7827

............. but when one person causes disruption by objecting to this, that and the other ........

Goodnight and have a happy weekend.

in reply to

blf.healthunlocked.com/blog...

I believe the essence of this blog was not to be argumentative, and to ignore ..... but then I am on heavy duty pain relief at the moment, me and oxycontin are having a blast .... perhaps my foggy brain was unable to interpret that blog ..... ho hum

in reply to

But the point is that nobody was named, and "one person" is a figure of speech. Of course it would have been different had Libby written "one specific person *******" with the individual's user name, but she did not.

All in all I think the report and ignore protocol should not only be constantly advised but also put into practice. I personally do report inflammatory or in any other way unacceptable posts of which there have been two in this thread

agree annieseed this site as helped me no end, thanks to all ,and the others wat disrupted sod of bak to sewers, when they have walked my path in life then judge, until then p.off
