Why do i see people say you need to come off these slowly?

I have had 2 chest infections and both times i took the course and that was it.

Should i have to ask or should doctors of told me? I had last tablet last Monday. Nothing since.

You should come off them slowly if you have been on a highish does for a sustained period of time. I was in a two week course and came down 5mg a day. I was on them for 20 months and it took me 6 months to come off them. You need to come off them slowly as your body stops producing whatever it is that you get from steroids so it needs to adjust to creating it again. You could ask your doctor but I think you would have had a reaction by now if you needed to wean yourself off rather than just stop.

When I have a flare up I usually take 6 for three days then 5 for three days then 4 for three days and so on. Takes 18 days in total. It is probably different for those on them for an extended period. As MarieWF says it took her 6 months. The BLF help line can answer any questions you have. Regards from Bobby

Last time i waswas on 6 x5mg per day for a wk.

Yeah I've been on 8 pills a day for 5 days several times but never had to come off slowley. In fact I come off them and jump up and down as they don't agree with me....they make me loopy x
