Hello, i have Emphesema and was wondering if anyone suffers with a burning feeling pain at the bottom of the rib cage , radiating around the side.

I have had terrible pain at the bottom of rib cage that spread around the side but I would not have called it a burning pain, I have emphysema, the first time i had that pain they said it was pleurisy, the last time i had it they said it was muscle strain from coughing. But you should check it out at the doctors, if you haven't yet, hope it eases for you soon.

Had extreme pain but not burning sensation. I was eventually given tablets it was muscle strain from coughing so much. They gave me cream to apply first and it was useless. Tablets cleared it up in a few wks.

I suffer with similar pains, I too have emphysema, my pains do seem to be cough related, if I can get the cough controlled the pain goes, muscle damage and a small hernia are always blamed by the doctors. The dull ache turns to an awful sharp jab if I move without thinking.

Indigestion and wind also give me problems, as the muscles are already sore the pressure of wind does not help I use Windeze pills which seem to help.

hi i have copd.was same last june pain and burning under ribs.it was copd causing mine and musuklar skeletar.still have it now and then/ex dum gp said it were nothing ,plus hitus hernia plays up,

p.s, new it wasnt gall stones as had bladder removed month be 4 april 2012.an pains an burning came may month after.

I get burning sensations in my upper chest where the emphysema is, but lower rib cage and around the side might possibly be gall bladder problems. Worth getting checked out either way.
