Aqueous cream and eczema advice.

Allergy UK have some information on their website about the use of aqueous cream for eczema.

NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence) issued guidelines in 2010 against its use when people have eczema but it is apparently still being used. Aqueous contains sodium lauryl sulphate which removes oils from the skin.

There sometimes can be a link between asthma and eczema so if you are affected have a chat with your GP.

If you are using oxygen and aqueous please check the ceam you are using is oil free.

Hi again jo, my son had Eczema he was prescribed E45 made it ten times worse, a friend recommended Biprobase in his bath cleared it up really well,

Azaard, is Biprobase on prescription, I am trying to find something suitable for a one year old, she has eczema. E45 is a total waste of space

Yes as your gp it can be used used in the bath as an emollient or as lotion, but pls test it on a small area of skin first ti make sure there is no reaction, hope this helps azaard

Diprobase,cream or ointment available from pharmacies used several times a day also helps me used on my hands.

Coconut oil is said to be good for eczema. You can get it in health food shops, otherwise you can get it on the internet (Amazon sell it, I'm sure there are other companies that do, too) Jude xx

I have Eczema as well as Asthma, and have used Aqueous Cream on and off for many years with no problems. E45 drives my skin wild. Lots of regular skin and asthma treatments can suit one patient and not another. Know this so well because my little sis often can not use what I do successfully, who has the same health issues.

Another pleasant product to use with Eczema is Doublebase, available in cream, shower gel and bath emollient.

Thank you Jo , I have excema and have been washing my hands in the cream. Won't be using it again. I use Eumovate Cream when I can tell I am having a flare up before the skin starts to crack, as advised by a GP for a maximum of 7days twice daily.
