To all with copd go to the gym and get on the treadmill.

Quite agree and I do, and the bike and the rowing machine. Treadmill is 30 mins at 3.5mph working up to a 6% incline. I know my breathing has improved with doing it.

your doing well lynne..i do 30 mins on treadmill and i run first for 3 mins on there then i walk 15 mins at 5.oo then the next 15 mins i stiill walk on incline 3% its the incline that makes my legs ake but not really breathles now. then i go on bike for 10 mins then rowing for 2 mins then a little swim

not smoked for 4 months just hope my fev1 has inproved has it was 62% in january when first tested

Well done. I hope it improves too, just as it did for Pedantic. Mine was 55%. I'm 58.

I don't run on the treadmill, that is too much for me but I could do a higher incline but it seems to make my knees hurt. I do 10 minutes bike and 5 rowing. No swim, I am not a good swimmer.

no im not a good swimer but it dont mater has in the water your moveing about all the time and that must be good

i do find it hard when on incline dont think i could do more then 3% well at the moment anyway

I walk over to the paper shop (60 metres). That's me lot. But a big well done to all of you that are putting the effort in. Bob

All aerobic exercise is good for those of us with COPD even if you're very ill and can't go to gym.

I agree to,going to the gym as helped me I'm on the treadmill incline of 4 At 4mph I do 10min I then go on the bike for 10 min then the cross trainer for 2 min squats I do 20 then I start again I have been to the gym five times now my age is 69 I now seem to have so much energy an look forward each week to going Bliss xx

You're a fantastic example of how to handle this condition keep it up it doesn't matter how fast you go as long as you don't stop.
